| September 04, 2007 | | The Arizona Diamondbacks season may be slowing down but baseball is still in the air. | The Arizona Fall League (AFL) may not be the major Leagues but its a lot of fun for baseball fans in Arizona. The AFL is the last stop before a player moves into the Major Leagues. Each of the 30 Major League Baseball teams picks 6 prospects to play in the AFL. This creates three teams in the American Division, the Mesa Solar Sox, Peoria Saguaros and the surprise Scorpions and three teams in the National Division are the Phoenix Desert Dogs, Grand Canyon Rafters and the Peoria Javalinas. These teams play the fall schedule between October 9th and November 15. The final, championship Game is played at the Scottsdale Stadium on November 17th. Residents and visitors can enjoy these games in five regional stadiums; HoHoKam Park, Peoria Stadium, Phoenix Municipal Stadium, Scottsdale Stadium and Surprise Stadium. The Arizona Fall League is a great opportunity to see up and coming baseball superstars while enjoying the exceptional Arizonal autumn weather. Tickets for these games are only $6.00 and a season pass is even less expensive per ticket. Talk about a lot of entertainment for the whole family at a very, very economical price. | |
