Fall is a wonderful time to attend the Phoenix Arts Museum and enjoy all of the engaging, wonderful events that they host. From September 23 to October 28th, enjoy Movies at the Museum, viewers can watch outstanding independent and classic movies and documentaries that describe and relate to the art, artists and pieces on view at the museum. After the movie viewers take part in an engaging discussion. All of the movies take place at the museum and are free with the purchase of the museum admission. The movies that will be coming this season are: Romeo and Juliet, The Rape of Europa, Crossing Arizona, Protest, The Mural Kings, and the western classic, Stagecoach. Music at the Museum takes place on November 17 from noon to 1:30. Listen to the western sounds of Lorraine Rawls, the winner of the Will Rogers Award for Excellence in Western Music. This is a wonderful evening of entertainment that is appropriate for the whole family. The 9th Annual Spirit of the West Festival is another event that is free with the Museum general admission. On Saturday enjoy a demonstration of traditional Western crafts and see beautifully made knives, bits, spurs, saddles, bridles, boots and chaps from the artists of the Dry Creek Arts Fellowship. On Sunday enjoy a free lecture about the International Cowboy and a roping demonstration. Photographer Rachel Running will exhibit her works on the horse culture of Casa Grandes, Mexico. It will be an extraordinary weekend for horse lovers and cowboy enthusiasts.
