Recently there has been an abundance of wonderful homes for lease and
often for very good prices.
If buying is not an option for you now then here you will find some
rental resources and the ability to search through homes, condos,
town-houses and lofts for lease. There are several ways to search.

What you need to know when leasing a property.
Renting
a home after being a home owner for a long time? There is a good
chance the lease have changed since you rented last time. I suggest to
investigate the area where you want to rent, almost as if you were
buying a home there. Though leasing is not even close to the
commitment we do when we buy, still you will live at that place for
approximately a year.
With the way the rental market
is now, we should be looking for a home / condo for rent, more or less
3 weeks or sooner before desired move date. Some properties will be
eliminated for various reasons, some will have applications pending, at
for others we may not be approved. Pet owners have limited choices
(except assisting or comfort animals, that have to be accepted with no
deposits)
Once we submit an application the process really takes few hours, but
at some places you may wait a of couple days before being approved.
Criteria vary based on property management guidelines or each
individual owner.
It helps if you are prepared. You should know the state of your credit
so there are no surprises, make sure you can document income and have
references. You can get a free credit report before you start looking.
Some important things to consider
1. Read the lease carefully and make sure you know who is responsible for what.
2. What lease is being used. An owner may have his/her own but in all cases it cannot supersede the landlord and tenant act.
3. What are the consequences for non performance by either you or the landlord.
4. Renters Insurance? The owners insurance will not cover your personal belongings.
5. Is the home you're leasing at risk of going into foreclosure? If so your lease becomes worthless.
