| June 02, 2008 | | Copper Star Coffee local Phoenix coffee shop | Joanna wrote about our exploration trip to Midtown Phoenix and the new places to eat we found at Real Estate Confluence. On a Saturday morning most places are closed. Riding down 7th ave. from a distance I saw what looked like a gas station but there was sign with the word coffee. My curiosity increased as we got close. Joanna was scoping out all the little private shops lining 7th ave. (these are a treat in them selves). Upon closer inspection it is an old gas station with an existing fill up station but with coffee, and place to sit outside and inside. The interior is raw; the ceiling beams, the brick and duct work is all showing, but its clean, that's the most important thing. The place was full with people. That's what I like to see. It's clear that this is a vibrant community. The Copper Star Coffee (on 7th Ave and Heatherbrae by Woodlea Historic District) has the coffee which is good, pastries which I have not tried yet and delicious sandwiches which we did try. This is definitely a great place to visit, especially on a weekend morning bike trip.
