East Sunnyslope Near the Phoenix Mountains Preserve

A Neighborhood of Homes with Views

On the East Size of Sunnyslope right along the west foothills of the Phoenix Mountains is an area which may surprise many: especially those who harbor a false view of Sunnyslope as a bad area.

Drive up 16th St. from Northern then take the small streets north along the hillside and you'll see an amazing mix of home: many were custom built while others like the 50's ranch homes sit amongst some quite appealing mid-century modern houses.

Some of these mid-century modern homes sit waiting to be discovered and transformed in to something special.  Quite a few homes have been features in local, national and international magazines.

The Southern end of the East Sunnyslope is more open there is always more light.  There is a small gated subdivision with homes up to 3 million: there dozens of homes some on the hillsides with lots of charm and character and each on is different.  In recent years some of the vacant lots have been filled and other older homes replaced with new large stucco homes.  Most look good hear.

Further North a cove, its quieter and more secluded.  East of Cave Creek Rd. close to the mountain is a community of homes like that of the southern end  but there is more greenery: mature desert landscaping, curving hilly roads and beautiful views.  For those high enough on the hills side the sunsets are often spectacular, especially during the monsoon season when huge thunderclouds fill the sky.

Along some of these roads hidden behind the trees and cactus there some ranch and modern homes which have been carefully and tastefully remodelled.  For creative home owners this may just be the place to express yourselves.
