miles into a bike ride I hit Lafayette Boulevard at 40th st. on my way
to get a cup of coffee in Downtown Scottsdale. A bike ride is often
null if there is no food involved as an incentive, even if its a
coffee. This time the ride was oh so much more joyous because it was, at least
for a while, next to a stream running along Lafayette Blvd. Well, not
quite a stream but a small canal on the south side of the road. None
the less you don't see too many such visual pleasures in Greater
Phoenix. The other similar canal runs along the Central Corridor in Phoenix.
What is particularly nice about the Arcadia canal
is that the homes are very pleasing visually: there are occasional bridges to get
across to the home and the south side of the canal is adorned with nice
flowers, bushes and trees. It's like were not in the desert any more
but a small rural community like Yountville close to Napa Valley. | | | |
