Urban Bike: 3 Scoops of Gelato in Arcadia
January 17, 2010
A warm sunny winter day and artisinal gelato plus a bike ride through the Biltmore and Arcadia.
It's befitting that on an early January afternoon when the sun is warming the Phoenix winter days to a cozy 70+ degrees that cycling and gelato should follow.
One of my favorite Gelato places is at 40th Street and Campbell where there are a few wrought iron seats to sit and soak in the high level of activity and I had a reason the bike there: to scout out the streets in detail in relation to a home we have coming on the market in a week.
There is not better way to get into a neighborhood in detail then to preview the active homes and the ride a bike up and down each street to see what's happening: remodeling, new landscaping, vacant homes etc.
The gelato in what used to be Arlecchino's but has a different name now, though the cold stuff is just as good: strawberry, nutella, nicciola, straciatella and pistachio and others all with vibrant fresh flavors.
The other reason a bike is handy here is that finding a parking space in this little strip is like finding one in London, Paris or New York.
Since we're on the subject of Arcadia take a look at the new neighborhood video we put together for it below and it's also available on the neighborhood profile page.
