| November 17, 2007 | | The desert landscape of the Phoenix valley can be just as lush and green as other parts of the country. | The Sonoran desert is beautiful. Many people moving here long for lush greenery, expansive green lawns and thick trees. Most of the plants here are not natural. It's especially odd to see pine trees and wet climate plants and green lawns in the winter. In recent years more people have realized the sheer beauty of the desert. I, too, have come to enjoy its beauty, smells and inevitable pokes and stabs. With some effort it's no difficult to take out that green lawn and replace it with lush desert landscaping. It's not only healthier for the Phoenix valley, but uses less water and looks more in-place. | | | |
