| December 03, 2007 | | Arcadia and the Biltmore are the more know neighborhoods in Camelback East in Phoenix. | Camelback East Village in Phoenix, AZ is generally bound by Northern Ave in the North, the Grand Canal in the South, 64th St. in the East and 7th St. in the West. Camelback East has 2 primary cores and a secondary core. Primary Cores include the business and entertainment area of 24th St. and Camelback and 44th St. and Van Buren while the Secondary core is 44th St. and Thomas Rd. These core areas include movie theaters, major department stores, luxury shopping centers, dining and resorts such as the Phoenician, the Arizona Biltmore and several others. Housing in the Camelback East Village is diverse with neighborhoods of many types. There is a good mix of single family homes, condos and multi-family properties. Some of the more prominent neighborhoods include Arcadia and the Biltmore. A majority of the homes were built from the 1950's to the 1970's but plenty of new developments have sprung up in the last few years. These new build residences include luxury homes, modern townhomes and condo. In addition, neighborhoods such as Arcadia are experiencing redevelopment, where the older housing stock is being replaced by new homes. Landmarks in the Camelback East Village include Papago Park, a 914 acre recreation facility with golfing and the Papago Baseball facility. There is also the Piestewa Peak Mountain Park (formerly know as Squaw Peak Mountain Park), a 2,510 acre mountain preserve in the middle of the Phoenix Valley. There is also the zoo and the famous and quite beautiful Desert Botanical Gardens. This is a rapidly developing part of town. The density is increasing, new restaurants and shopping areas are opening. Camelback East has become a good place to live as well as work. | |
