Piestewa Peak is the 2,608 foot peak of the Phoenix Mountains and the Dreamy Draw Recreation area. This park located in Central Phoenix with Paradise Valley to the East offers miles of hiking, biking and equestrian trails, including the longest trail, Trail 100.
The largest starting base in the park is the Dreamy Draw Recreation area with access from Northern Ave. Here you will find plenty of parking and picnicing areas.
The real estate around the Phoenix Mountains is mixed, because each area takes advantage of the better parts that are offered by the location.
The South side running from I-51 freeway all the way to Tatum Boulevard has homes which take advantage of the central Phoenix view of the city and of course the now mythic Camelback Mountain to the South East.
On the North side you will find homes with large lots. This is where most of the horse properties are with direct access to the equestrian trails. The north side seems out of place within this huge city. Its an area which seems forgotten by development, preserving its rural appeal.
On the east is Paradise Valley with luxurious homes with views of not only the South East but toward the East where the to the McDowell mountains, and four peaks.
