Paradise Valley grew from a sprawling rural community and ranches. It retains much of the rural character despite being in the middle of the Phoenix metropolitan area. Now Paradise Valley is often described as an Arizona Beverly Hills.
It's no wonder since its one of the 50 wealthiest areas in the USA. Paradise Valley is surrounded by several mountains. Its borders are more or less Shea Blvd. to Camelback Rd. and 32nd st. to Scottsdale Rd, but these are not the exact borders.
Home owners and visitors find the city very desirable and the name Paradise Valley is apt; its relaxed, peaceful, luxurious, green and it melds well into the desert landscape. Its not uncommon to see rabbits, quail, roadrunners on the streets and yards; packs of coyotes can often be heard from the mountains. Desirability stems from the location, zoning and views amongst others.
The location is ideal. Paradise Valley is simply in the middle of all activity and is fairly close to most places residents want to go and be; the airport is only 15 min. away, Downtown Phoenix is only 20 min. away and other major business districts, like 24th & Camelback, are much closer, Downtown Scottsdale is just a short ride away.
From shopping to world class dining, clubs and walking areas, its all on the borders of Paradise Valley. This is important because there is virtually no commercial activity in Paradise Valley. You will see not billboards, not adds, not stores and no shopping; virtually no commercial facilities exist in Paradise Valley except for resorts which are well hidden.

Homes in Paradise Valley a mixture as is common in the older parts of the Phoenix Valley. You'll find spectacular contemporary homes, Santa Barbara, Tuscan and French country inspired homes, Southwester design and original 50's and 60's red brick Ranch homes of various sizes.
Most homes are custom or semi-custom so very few homes look alike except for projects like Montelcino. Despite the variety all homes suite each other well.
