Bomberos Wine Bar In Sunnyslope, AZ
December 07, 2008
An South American inspired wine bar on Central Ave. has food as inviting as the decor.

Head North on Central Ave. along the Central Corridor and past Northern there is the Arizona Canal. It used to be a border of sorts. That border is where Sunnyslope begins and it was not that long ago that this was a place to avoid despite its many alluring characteristics.
That's not true any more and it has not been for quite a while. In fact, people who don't know the history of Sunnyslope would not think twice about giving it any bad vibes.
It's not Sunnyslope I want to focus on even though it's central. It's how so many see the opportunity in Sunnyslope. It simply so close to the center of the city that it's part of Central Phoenix, Uptown Phoenix to be exact that it will see a lot of growth in the coming year.
Anyway drive up Central Ave and on the way to S mountain you'll see several local restaurants. One of those is Bomberos Wine Bar. It's special not only because the owners are part of what is making Sunnyslope popular but also because it's a great place with great food.
Inspired by the South American culture, Bomberos features a chic very relaxing environment with South American wines and Latin beers, coffee & tea: fresh pastries by "Tammie Coe" which are very good indeed: Brushetta & Panini: Meat and Artisan Cheese Platters: Omelettes & Breakfast Wraps.
It's also not the menu that is important - it's definitely more world inspired then the South American interior but, it's how the food is made and how it tastes: and the food is great. The coffee is prepared just right and the breakfast wrap -for instance- was really fresh, light, flavorful and perfect: it was delicious.
Both the interior and exterior are relaxing and neutral. I truly enjoy sitting outside, shaded by the mature desert trees it's a very inviting modern patio: and the music is perfect.
These are exactly the types of places we need to support and they make it very easy to come back to. There is nothing more magnetic then good food and a great atmosphere.
