Earll Place Historic District in Lower Central Phoenix

A small quaint historic district of 41 bungalow and revival homes spread out on large lots with lots of open space.
Earll Place is another one of the smaller historic districts in Phoenix
(link), but it lack nothing in charm, architecture and location. It is
located north of Thomas and just east of 16th Street in Central Phoenix:
it covers two streets, Earll Drive and Pinchot Avenue. Earll Place was
developed mostly in the late 1920's. A detailed history of Earll Place is

When built it was on the edges of Phoenix and primarily agricultural
land. Not anymore, of course. Central Phoenix means centrally located.
As with most historic districts Earll Place is near everything or near
major transportation routes to get virtually anywhere in the city
easily, but with to much available in central Phoenix there is little
reason to wander to the outskirts unless you want to get our of the city
completely.
The district is small. It consists of 41 home, many of which have guest
houses, garages, storage units or additional rental units. The
setbacks are rather large so the front yards are quite large, maybe too
large for the side of the homes and it's not always easy to do something
interesting with a large front yard, though there is a sense of large
space.
The architectural styles common here include many Bungalows, English
Tudor, Southwest Style and the revivals like: English Tudor and Spanish
Colonial.
Earll Place was developed mostly in the late 1920's.
As a whole,
the neighborhood retains its historic appearance from its period of
development.
