The rail&nbsp;will enhance the quality of life for all who live and visit the Phoenix community. The new system will be powered by electricity on overhead wires, and will be very quiet, generating very little noise.&nbsp; The light rail train operates at street level in its own lane separated from other traffic.&nbsp;It&nbsp;will be faster than the local bus system and will actually travel at the same speed as cars. Light rail vehicles can carry approximately 200 people and can be linked with up to three other cars to carry up to 600 people at a time. Eventually, the system will transport up to 15,000 people an hour.
