The largest starting base in the park is the Dreamy Draw Recreation area with access from Northern Ave.  Here you will find plenty of parking and picnicking areas.  The real estate around the Phoenix Mountains is mixed, because each area takes advantage of the better parts that are offered by the location.  The South side running from I-51 freeway all the way to Tatum Boulevard has homes which take advantage of the central Phoenix view of the city and of course the now mythic Camelback Mountain to the South East. On the North side you will find homes with large lots.  This is where most of the horse properties are with direct access to the equestrian trails.
